-Caution Tape-

Diya Kotak

When in a state of distress, we tend to turn to other beings for comfort.

Going without human contact for too long can literally break your heart. That's according to a new study of social isolation published in the Journal of the American Heart Association in May, which tracked more than 1,600 people living with heart failure.

We tend to seek happiness in other people, because we believe that our emotional state depends on theirs. If they are okay, so are we.

We idolize love since we are taught to believe that it heals all; takes away the pain and replaces it with happiness.

We wrap a caution tape around our hearts, waiting for the day that one person comes around and shows us our worth, takes away all the pain and makes life worthwhile.

How delusional.

However, in the end, we’re all humans; drunk on the idea that love, only love, could heal our broken hearts
