You don’t know it yet. But I do. And I know that you are going to be the death of me or you could be The One.
Your eyes draw me in, make me feel all the stupid cheesy corny clichés I had previously scoffed at, looking like a condensed, mini version of the universe, for my eyes only. That conspiratorial wink you give me when you try another pathetic attempt at flirting with me makes my spine feel like a live wire, buzzing with electricity. And your eyelashes – they are a gift from God himself, turning me into a believer. Long, thick and dark, they curl up into themselves, lashes any girl would literally murder for. Your eyes, they are the first thing I notice when I look at you, and when you look at me, I feel naked – like I’m baring my soul to you in its entirety, and you like what you see.
You have a splash of freckles across your nose and cheeks – they only add to your appeal. They – along with that sly half-smirk – give you that boyish charm that puberty had all but abducted. They form little constellations, narrating half-forgotten stories hidden within myths and half-truths all over your face. When you smile, or frown, your nose scrunches adorably and crumples up all those tiny tales it would take a lifetime to learn.
And that smile. Even from across the room, it talks to me, telling me all I ever wanted to hear, like food to my starved self, like water to my thirst. It warms me up till my bones, and I hadn’t realised how cold I was until I felt your smile. A cheeky, toothy grin when you’re trying to be cute, a sly smirk when you make a disgusting joke, an honest, pure smile when you’re genuinely happy. When you laugh, you fill my body with shivers of pure joy, making me feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
You have a way of talking that makes everyone listen, and you have a way of listening that makes everyone talk. You’ve saved from the edge one too many times, and I wish I could do the same for you, but you’d always put me first, and I’m so grateful for it. I just want to thank you, for all you’ve ever done to me, for me, and just know, that you’re always going to have a special place in my heart, no matter where life takes us. Thank you. I love you.
